Ching-Ming Lu, winner of several international conducting competitions, including Eduardo Mata International Conducting Competition, is also the owner of Würdigungspreis awarded by the Austrian government in 2003. He has conducted orchestras from Austria, Bulgaria, Egypt, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico, Romania, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Slovak to Taiwan, including many leading European orchestras such as Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, etc. He also works on opera and musical theaters besides orchestral conducting. His opera debut was Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor by O. Nicolai at Schlosstheater Schönbrunn in Vienna.
Mr. Lu is so far the only Asian assistant conductor of the Budapest Festival Orchestra in 2004-2005 (music director Ivan Fischer). In 2005 he was candidate of the Associate Conductor of Radio Symphony Orchestra France. In 2006 the recording of orchestral works by Richard Wagner, recorded with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, received numerous recommendations and admiration from critics. In year 2006 he led the concert tour of Chimei Symphony Orchestra to Taiwan and China with great success. Since 2007 he became music director of Chimei Philharmonic Orchestra. In year 2008 and 2010 he led concert tours of the NUTN Symphony Orchestra to Australia and Canada, also with great success. He founded Taiwan Artists Ensemble (TAE) in 2009, and since then the orchestra has already absolved 15 concert tours including 95 concerts around Taiwan. With its near 160 concerts and musical activities, the orchestra has been selected as outstanding performing group of Kaisiung City in 2010 and 2011. Since 2010 the TAE Music Festival becomes one of the most representative events of the cultural life in Southern Taiwan. As a composer Ching-Ming Lu had premieres of his chamber music compositions in Austria and Taiwan. He also performed many works of world premiere.
